Forex Trading Hours in the Asia-Pacific area

The International Date Line is located in the western Pacific region, and each business day starts first in the Asia-Pacific financial centers. First Forex trading open in Wellington, New Zealand, then Sydney, Australia, followed by Asian markets: Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Singapore.

A few hours later Forex trading begin in India, then Bahrain and elsewhere in the Middle East. Later still, when it is late in the business day in Tokyo, European markets open for business.

So here are the times when two Forex trading sessions overlap:
The good time to trade currency is from the 7 pm to 10 pm EST time period, when the Asian and Australian markets overlap.

*EST = UTC** – 5 hours
**UTC= Coordinated Universal Time is the more modern name for what used to be GMT (Greenwich mean time).
